At this SGM, the Association adopted the 2009 Model Constitution (as provided by Fair Trading NSW, and pursuant to the Associations Incorporation Act 2009), with the amendments below.

That Resolution 2 be amended so that 3(2) includes ‘or such further period as may be determined by the committee,’. Section 3(2) now reads:
(2) The applicant is to pay, when lodging the application or within the period of 28 days after receipt of the application by the secretary of the association, or such further period as may be determined by the committee, the sum payable under this constitution by a member as entrance fee and annual subscription. |

That the Ashfield Business Chamber Incorporated, pursuant to clauses 31 and 37 of the Model Rules for associations incorporated under the Associations Incorporation Act 1984 (‘1984 Model Rules’) replace its adopted 1984 Model Rules with the 2016 version of Model Constitution under the Associations Incorporation Act 2009. |

That Clause 3 of the adopted Model Rules be amended to read as follows:
3 Application for membership (1) An application by a person for membership of the association: (a) must be made in writing (including by email or other electronic means, if the committee so determines) in the form determined by the committee, and (b) must be lodged (including by electronic means, if the committee so determines) with the secretary of the association. (2) The applicant is to pay, when lodging the application or within the period of 28 days after receipt of the application by the secretary of the association, or such further period as may be determined by the committee, the sum payable under this constitution by a member as entrance fee and annual subscription. (3) The secretary must, on payment by the applicant of the amounts referred to in subclause (2) within the period of 28 days after receipt of the application by the secretary of the association, and with the approval of the committee within the same period, enter or cause to be entered the applicant’s name in the register of members and, on the name being so entered, the applicant becomes a member of the association.
